Investigating Murder is Usually a Task for the Police...
When the victims are your wife and child, you might find that the police can only get in your way.
They killed Inell “Echo” Harrison’s wife and daughter then moved on as if it were no big deal. But Echo is an utterly violent, reckless private eye who makes the rules up as he goes, and he knows someone has to pay. He and his team will have to first peel layers upon layers of lies. In the meantime, a spiteful homicide detective has a problem with Echo, so he frames him for the murders of his own family.
If you prefer thrillers that play it safe and conservative, I suggest you move on to the softer, traditional style of thrillers and skip this one. Plenty of suspects and nothing but action here!

I liked the criminal characters in this book. The 'regular joes' - whilst committing crimes of their own - were, banal, stupid, full of false bravado and ultimately doomed.I had to quit reading from time to time ( meatspace duties ) but I kept thinking about the book and wondering what was happening in crazy badass criminal city.
First chance I got I'd dive right back in. Despite the casual violence of the badass bad guys - say what you will, at least they had an ethos. Interesting read!

good read
Too much violence. Not my kind of book.
A good read, not the usual detective plot. Lot's of surprising twists and turns, one of those books that's hard to put down.
The writing is so bad I had to force myself to even finish the first chapter to see if somehow it got better or made any sense. I'm glad I only wasted .99 cents. I do not recommend.
What I believed was going to happen did but I wasn't expected the added layers of storytelling that came. Very complex and loveable characters
I'm not offended by much but the vivid description of the murder of a dog in this book offended me. As far as I'm concerned the author went way to far. Any redeeming qualities the character "Echo" may have had were lost.
I think the author is a real piece of s--t; I wouldn't be surprised if he has a photo Michael Vick above his bed that he masterbates to.
DAWG BOUNTY HUNTER ON STEROIDS ... fasten your seat belts for this one ... every page littered with non stop murder and mayhem. These guys start a conversation by shooting for the kneecaps. Warning Don't read this book before bedtime ... your adrenaline level will be pumped up so high you will not be able to sleep.
